In case you weren't there, Spundae's luck can't get much worse.  Here is a good summary lifted from another message board.

Reply  Re: Circus Power Outage??
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Here's what happened...

We got there around 10:15... at about 10:25, the power goes out. Arena was out as well as a few other buildings. DWP said it shouldn't be more than about 15-20 minutes. Many waited as late as midnight to see if the power would come back on. An impromptu conga-and-cowbell-and-footstomp jam session had everyone dancing under the emergency lights in the smaller house room. By 12:30, a lot of people had given up and left, but a few faithful remained to see if the power would come on....

...and it did around 1am.

They decided to just keep the house room open because of the size of the crowd didn't merit using the main room. Passes for free admission for another night in December were given to those who stuck it out. Most of the DJs had left, but Holly Adams and I think D:Fuse had stuck around and spun a rockin' two hour set for those remaining.

About 2:45, our friend tells us to come outside to the patio area, saying "Hey, come out and take a look. There's water out there!" We went outside, where we got to see the Spundae River... a foot of water at a strong current pouring down the back area. At 3am, they announced that because the water level was just getting higher, they were closing the club before it got insane. Cars were being evacuated driving straight through the back area...very strange.

Trash bags were given to those who wanted them to "potato sack" through the parking lot to dry land.

We were waiting for the shower of frogs and the locusts.

It was an unfortunate coincidence that it would happen this weekend, considering recent events. But the burst water main affected over 5 blocks of downtown Hollywood... kind of big to be the result of one location being targeted.

When all was said and done, we were so grateful to have been there that night... the night the lights went out at Spundae.
