Article on Ecstacy and PTSD research
« on: December 20, 2008, 12:18:55 PM »
For those of you interested in the state of research into legitimate uses of ecstasy, the Economist has a great article this week called "Agony and ecstacy". The article talks about using ecstasy to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The article gives a good background on the drug, the research being done and what the future may hold as far as Phase III trials and getting ecstasy rescheduled. It's great to see such a well respected publication write an article like this.

The story is based on the results of the recently completed MAPS flagship US study of MDMA-assisted Psychotherapy for the Treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Visit their website to learn more about their groundbreaking work.
