DanceStar is sad to report the tragic death of Logic Records GM Kelly Schweinsberg. John Parker from Robbins spoke for all in dance music with these words: "Kelly was a dance music legend. She was always optimistic and will be greatly missed by all in this community."
The closure of Space 34 in Miami has been extended by one week. Danny Tenaglia will now close the club on Saturday. See below for a full quote from owner Louis Puig.
Ferry Corsten's new Moonshine single, 'Rock Your Body Rock', will be available on Apple's iTunes two weeks prior to the official store release. Corsten launches a US tour on November 6 in Atlanta.
The MTV Europe Music Awards has teamed up with Scotland's Colours and DF Concerts to present a week of music and club events in Glasgow and Edinburgh between November 1-8. Erick Morillo, Sasha, Felix da Housecat and Erol Alkan are among the DJs.
Jamiroquai has compiled the tenth 'Late Night Tales' album for Whoa Music, a fine series that has already delivered selections from Groove Armada and Zero 7.
Dave Clarke launches his first live tour in the UK on Monday October 27 with a date at Concorde2 in Brighton. His new album, 'Devil's Advocate', is out on Skint on November 3, and includes collaborations with DJ Rush, Chicks On Speed and Mr Lif.
Richie Hawtin, aka Plastikman, kicks off his US tour at Avalon New York on October 25, in support of his new album, 'Closer'. The event is part of the CMJ 2003 Music Marathon. Josh Wink also DJs.
The Prodigy are set return in 2004 with a new album tentatively titled, 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned'.
Fabric London celebrates its fourth birthday this weekend with two parties including a 12-hour marathon on Saturday. James Lavelle, Erol Alkan, John Peel, Coldcut, Andy C, DJ Hype and Andy Weatherall all spin.
Steve Lawler's 'Lights Out 2' is the next compilation release on Global Underground. The worldwide release drops on October 27. Lawler supports the release with a six-hour set at Harlem Nights at The End in London on the following Friday.
Vapour Metropolitan Festival Of Independent Music is a three-day event celebrating electronic label culture in and around London on October 30-November 2. The event features 25 labels including Warp, Rephlex, Heavenly, Wall Of Sound and Twisted Nerve.

Space 34 owner Louis Puig on the closure of DanceStar USA's Best Club Venue 2003: "Space 34 will cease to exist after this Saturday. However, we have future contracted dates that we must respect including three huge White Party events in November. These events will be hosted at our location but not under the Space 34 name. We are still negotiating with various entities for ownership of the club. In the meantime, the venue will remain open in order to protect the jobs and livelihood of our 150 employees and their families. These people are like family to me and I will not toss them out on the street."
